The Little Millennium’s preschool curriculum has been developed based on Sequential Learning and Developmental of children across varying ages between 1.5 – 6 years. We have carefully developed a unique approach while defining our preschool programs, keeping in mind the growth pattern and skills for each age group.
This program is specifically designed for children between age 1.5 to 2.5 years to help them settle down and get ready for the pre school environment. Through this program children are taught the first set of life skills like listening, responding to instructions, sharing, taking turns and playing cooperatively.
The Developing Roots program is, designed to cater to the learning requirements of children between the age group of 2-3 years. Separation anxiety is an important aspect and that is why we give special care and attention to these children to help them overcome it. The curriculum created for this age group is a mixture of various fun-filled activities that match up to the kid’s growing desire to be independent. We mainly emphasize on active exploration, manipulation, sensorial learning and introduce the child to new ideas and concepts. The curriculum helps to strengthen their thinking skills such as understanding, problem solving and reasoning.
The Emerging Wings program is designed to cater to the developmental requirements of children between 3-4yrs. In order to improve reading skills, we help build a strong base in phonics.Children learn to speak the alphabet in a sequential, rhyming manner and also write alphabets in the upper case. Encouragement is given to frame and speak simple sentences using words learnt through themes. Our preschool program encourages their creativity and imaginative skills, through story-telling sessions and circle-time sessions. Critical thinking and problem solving skills, is developed through the knowledge of numbers and pre-math skills.
The Ready to Fly I program prepares children for the next level of socio-emotional development and academic, social, and physical skills. The levels of facilitating, learning, and participation are higher. The children learn to master reading and writing long and short vowels, blending, diagraphs, rhyming, and comprehension. With this knowledge the children move on to two and three-letter word recognition. A second language is also introduced to the Children. They develop the ability for following rules, when participating in games & other collective activities.
Designed for 5-6 year olds, the Ready to Fly II program prepares children for formal schooling. Children develop excellent reading skills through an emphasis on consonant blend sounds. The idea of ‘One Less’ & ‘One More’ helps the children to understand ‘Addition’ & ‘Subtraction’. They are given, the opportunity to master concepts such as ascending and descending, and learn about ordinal and cardinal numbers. Formal schooling is about competition and challenges, and with the help of our activities, the children prepare for the same.
